Actually this are the questions we think you'll ask. Nobody actually asked these questions, so perhaps it should be Formost Anticipated Questions.
Q: Company X gives unlimited disk space. Why?
A: It's not strictly speaking true. Each server has limited disk space, and if you started hosting multi-gigabyte films I am sure they'd have something to say. We like to place reasonable restrictions on our service so that no single user will damage the service of our other users.
Q: You limit bandwidth, but don't charge for excess usage. How does that work?
A: Infrequent excesses are ignored. Constant excess usage can adversely effect other users, so rather than charge you extra money, we will attempt to reduce your bandwidth. We believe that it is better to give customers the financial security of not having un-expected excess payments, and managing bandwidth problems pro-actively. Still, if you really do require extra bandwidth I am sure we can arrange something.
Q: How does the SPAM reduction work?
A: Firstly, we reject all email for an address that we do not recognize. If you own a domain elsewhere, understand that this is the first and most important step in reducing spam. Secondly we use greylisting, which effectively refuses email from badly written spam software, and accepts it from well written mail servers. Thirdly we perform other well-formedness checks on incoming email to ensure that it is legitimate.
Q: Ruby and Java support?
A: That is coming, and will be a part of our standard hosting package. You are so lucky!
